So as an HVAC industry insider, UV lights are the next thing flying off the shelf (almost as fast as toilet paper!). UV light products are proven protection against many home pollutants, including viruses and bacteria. With Floridians now being ordered to stay home and people infected with Coronavirus not exhibiting symptoms for as long as 12 days, these products are the best protection for your home available.
There are a few different products (that are manufactured locally) that can be installed in an a/c system and use UVC to purify the air. As stated by Fresh-Aire UV (of Jupiter) “while these systems have not been specifically tested against coronavirus, they have been tested and proven effective against similar pathogens, some that require an even greater dosage for inactivation than coronavirus.”
UV-C light is a short-wavelength, ultraviolet light that breaks apart germ DNA, leaving it unable to function or reproduce. In other words, UV-C light is germicidal while UV-A and UV-B light are not. UV-C can even neutralize “superbugs” that have developed a resistance to antibiotics.
These systems can be installed on a condo, home or business, they can also be used in common areas such as a gym. Sailfish Mechanical currently has a few different UV options in-stock:

- UV Light – two bulb systems, with either 1 year or 2 year bulbs, bulbs can been replaced

- Reme Halo – with either a 2 year or 4.5 year bulb, bulb can be replaced
